The talented Bob Greyvenstein (www.bobgreyvenstein.com) has come up with a great cover illustration for "Save the Dragons" and mocked up a couple of cover layouts based on it.

That said, I can sort of see why Bob did it that way, with the goose-drawn surfboard in black where it is.
The other thing that might work well is to keep the name white, but move it down to the bottom of the cover where it'll be contrasted against dark colors, as it is on the letterboxed cover.
Then again, the letterbox treatment does look classy.
I think having your name reversed ( "in white" ) looks better on either version, although doing so on the spine would lead to it being lost in the background.
And Dave, why d'you want to move to Tasmania? No-one actually *lives* in Tasmania, y'know. ;)
